Between 2022 and 2024, 4Sciences supported the British Academy in a strategic reorganisation of its Research Directorate, in response to a significant expansion of its funding portfolio. The project aimed to strengthen internal structures, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the Directorate was well-positioned to deliver on its growing responsibilities.
Key contributions included the design of new roles to foster collaboration and synergy across teams, the enhancement of workflows, and the establishment of a dedicated Monitoring & Evaluation team integrated into core operations. 4Sciences also supported the development of job descriptions and recruitment processes to ensure the right expertise was in place to meet future demands.
This work has helped the British Academy build a more agile and strategically aligned research function, capable of supporting its evolving funding programmes and long-term institutional goals.
