As part of the “la Caixa” Foundation’s Postdoctoral Junior Leader Fellowship Programme, 4Sciences was commissioned by SIRIS Academic to deliver a workshop on Driving Diverse Impacts of Research. The session took place at Châteauform Campus La Mola and formed part of a three-day residential programme for postdoctoral researchers working in STEM disciplines across institutions in Spain and Portugal.
The workshop invited fellows – each with 3 to 7 years of post-PhD experience – to explore the evolving landscape of research impact. Through interactive activities and reflective exercises, participants examined institutional and systemic conditions shaping the pathways between science and society, including the broader ‘impact agenda’.
Fellows were encouraged to consider their own innovation goals and engagement skills, envisioning future impact strategies aligned with their expertise and career trajectories. The session aimed to build awareness of diverse impact models and support researchers in identifying meaningful, context-sensitive approaches to engagement and knowledge exchange.
