4Sciences, in collaboration with Research Consulting, conducted a multidimensional review of the research and enterprise culture at the University of Salford. The aim was to provide strategic recommendations to strengthen the research environment, support staff development, and align with the University’s long-term goals.
The review involved stakeholder interviews and ten themed focus groups, engaging 79 researchers, technicians, and research support staff. Desk research included analysis of sector-wide practices, internal university policies, and performance data from the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF).
The final report outlined actionable recommendations to foster a more inclusive, supportive, and strategically aligned research culture across the institution.
